I can proudly say the infrastructure was rebuilt in the last few days, and then the network and Hub were rebuilt from the ground up. This means improved performance and better compatibility with different game versions. The hub has been migrated to 1.20, which means improved functionalities and features.
Honestly, this has all been a trip down memory lane for me and motivates me to keep working on bringing back the MCW network better than ever. I really would like to say that I appreciate all the kind words and support that we have received, and I can proudly say that we have a full Build and Staff team again. The staff team will currently online have administrators and moderators and will eventually go back to the old way with more sub ranks.
Donations
You might know that running an MC server is not cheap, and ensuring good performance comes at a price. I don't like begging for money, and I am serious about the revival of the MCW Network and have paid upfront all the costs to cover it for a year. This hurt a lot as I am still a student, almost finishing my master's (for context, not for pity).
If someone wants to support the network's rebuilding and help with some of the costs, I will create a page where you can donate to my PayPal account. Everyone who does this will be put on this page as an appreciation. When the donation store opens again, they will receive a coupon of 1.5X their donation amount. Besides that, you will get a special appreciation role, unique skin in-game, and more (will be added in 1.20 server updates, read "legacy servers").
Donation ranks
Just before we shut down, Mojang changed the rules of the EULA, meaning that everything marked as P2W was forbidden and would result in a server ban on the client side. Initially, we could circumvent this by rotating the domain name with fake records, but this has all been fixed, and there are no ways to bypass this anymore. This means that we will need to comply with the EULA, remember, this is not my decision, but I will have to comply not to get our server blacklisted by Mojang.
This means that I now have an additional task to complete on my already massive list: redesigning the entire donation system and ranks. As this can't be done within a week, a temporary solution at release will be to remove all the commands and functions from ranks that are classified as P2W. This is only a temporary solution! When the new system is in place, everyone with a donator rank will get compensation in the game and receive the "new rank". You will also get a cool token of appreciation for being an old donator, such as a unique outfit or something (1.20 allows for some cool stuff). The new donation system will have to focus on cosmetics, battle passes, etc. A lot is possible in 1.20.
Legacy servers
I am currently working on bringing back the old servers: Survival, SkyBlock, and OP-Factions. This has been a struggle as a lot has changed on the back-end side, meaning that not everything functions anymore, for example, the scoreboard. This has opened my eyes to the fact that staying on these legacy versions for the long run is no longer possible. This means that after the release of the network, I will have to start rebuilding the servers from scratch to 1.20.
This means that at the release of the network, the servers can be seen as legacy and pure for nostalgia and will focus on bringing the best version of each server in 1.20 with all the new possibilities and performance improvements.
